Love's legals lost
An L.A. judge has rejected a motion by Courtney Love's lawyers to suppress evidence, clearing the way for the April 16 start of her trial on drug and disorderly conduct charges. Prosecutors will now be able to introduce urine samples and some of Love's statements.
Meanwhile, Love is lashing out at a book that alleges she may have had a hand in the death of her husband, Nirvana rocker Kurt Cobain, in 1994.
Max Wallace and Ian Halperin, authors of "Love & Death," have "opportunistically used the anniversary of Kurt Cobain's death to promote their ongoing campaign of greed and exploitation of what remains an unbearable tragedy for us all," Love told us in a statement. She said Seattle Police had officially ruled Cobain's death a suicide.
Love, whose single "Hold on to Me," is getting major airplay, added that she has hired a forensic accountant "to investigate the fraud and misappropriation of funds" from Cobain's estate.
