UPDATE ARCHIVE - AUGUST 2002
AUGUST 22ND 2002
Learned today that Dr. Nikolas Hartshorne passed away a couple weeks ago. Mr. Hartshone was the Medical Examiner who did Kurt Cobain's autopsy. In his free time, he was also very popular in the "BASE" jumping world. He lost his life after a jump gone wrong in Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland on August 6th. For more information, read this article: British Man dies in Switzerland base jumping from the "Nose". See also World BASE Fatality List (He's #60)
For more information about his involvement with this case, read the "Conflict of Interest" section on the reasons why this case should be reopened page on this site. Even though Mr. Hartshorne may not have been very well-liked by some in the Cobain murder theory community for his strong opinions against the investigation, I hope everyone still sends their condolences and best wishes to his friends and family. Rest in Peace.

An on-sale date for the book based on the Kurt Cobain diaries has been announced. The hardcover edition goes on sale November 11th, and you can already pre-order it at Amazon.com. It'll be interesting to read them, even though releasing private journals that someone may or may not have ever intended to be released might be a bit much. Nonetheless, many believe they might not be legit, based on this July 1993 interview Kurt did with Guitar World magazine, in which he mentions "I've never kept personal journals, either. I've never kept a diary, and I've never tried to write stories in the poetry; it's always been abstract." Hmm...
The latest newsletter went out on July 30th. However, thanks to some technical glitches over at Yahoo, it either didn't reach everyone, or got cut in half. Sorry about that. It's archived in the Newsletter section of this site.
