An on-sale date for the book based on the Kurt Cobain journals has been announced. The hardcover edition goes on sale November 4th, and you can already pre-order it at Amazon.com.
It'll be interesting to read them, even though releasing private journals that someone may not have ever intended to be released, could be a bit much. Nonetheless, many believe they might not be fully legit, based on this July 1993 interview Kurt did with Guitar World magazine, in which he mentions "I've never kept personal journals, either. I've never kept a diary, and I've never tried to write stories in the poetry; it's always been abstract."

Ok, so did he keep diaries, or not? Will the book include scanned pages of the actual diaries, which can hopefully be verified as Kurt's handwriting? We'll see.
When the book is released, this section of the site will update with any conflicting information about them, if there is anything of interest.
October 20th - Over the next three weeks, The Observer will be publishing exclusive extracts from the unseen diaries Kurt Cobain kept during his short but luminous life. You can see the journal extracts, in Kurt's own hand, and share your experiences of the Cobain phenomenon. The first set of extracts are now available.
Until then, feel free to post your opinions on the matter and take a poll in a thread about it on the site discussion forums.
